Hello, I'm Şeker Hoca 👋

I started my professional life in Teacher Training High School and the Faculty of Education. Combining over 10 years of English teaching experience with my passion for process optimization, I am here today as both an Educator and a Continuous Improvement (CI) Analyst. Currently, I work in a global tech company, collaborating with people from diverse cultures to blend my analytical and educational skills.

Fortunately, my professional journey hasn't been limited to the classroom. I've had the chance to visit different parts of the world, including the USA, UK, Finland, Poland, Georgia, Bulgaria, and Brazil. During these travels, I managed international projects with my students, attended teacher training programs, and worked on projects optimizing operational processes for the global tech firm I currently work for.

Why Did I Establish This Platform?

One of the thoughts that occupied my mind the most during my teaching years was this sentence:

"Teacher, let us go! English isn't in the university entrance exam, we need to solve math. We'll handle English somehow in business life..."

This sentence was one of the turning points that led me to transition from teaching to corporate life.

It is an irony of fate that I meet the grown-up versions of those bright youths who said "we will handle it in business life" in the corporate world today. I sadly watch how these engineers, who are brilliant in their fields, struggle to defend their ideas in global meetings and cannot reach the career levels they deserve simply due to the "language barrier".

Today, when they come and ask "Teacher, how are we going to handle this English?", my answer is no longer "Go and memorize a grammar book".

Education with an Engineering Mindset

As a Continuous Improvement Analyst, my job is to simplify complex and inefficient processes (Kaizen). I have adapted this approach to English learning.

The Şeker Hoca platform is a project to transform English learning from a boring "study session" into small, practical games spread throughout the day. No installations, no sign-ups, no excuses. Just pure practice.

The Team Behind the Scenes 🏠

There is actually an invisible support team behind this platform:

• Mrs. Şeker Hoca: My wife and my most honest critic. She is my Quality Assurance (QA) leader, who tests the games I prepare with her own students, holds me back by saying "This game won't work in the classroom," or approves by saying "The students loved this!"
• Junior Şeker: My son. Even though he is still young, he is my source of inspiration, reminding me every day of how a child learns a language naturally, fearlessly, and through play.
• Tosbik: My tortoise, who accompanies me while developing my projects, providing motivation in exchange for lettuce. He is the symbol of "steady" progress, not slowing down. 🐢
